Directed by Kate Moross — who previously worked on visuals for “Wildest Moments”, “Running” and “If You’re Never Gonna Move” — the new video for Jessie Ware‘s “Imagine It Was Us” places the uptempo, house-inspired track right where it belongs: a sweaty, flashy dance club. The UK songstress strikes a few poses under the disco ball (moves, she said recently at her New York City show, she helped choreograph) alongside a colorfully-costumed bunch, while also slipping through a number of wardrobe changes. Watch it above.

29. I Am a Writer

When people ask me what I am I hesitate to say a ‘writer’. I fear the inevitable smirk which will cross their face as I align myself with the greats before me who have pathed the literary road. I don’t call myself a writer because I think that what I write is particularly special but because writing, expressing myself through the only medium I truly crave is what gives me meaning. Putting pen to paper, words on a screen is my therapy, my catharsis. I don’t write because I necessarily want to, I have to. In order to put my thoughts and feelings into some semblance of order, to make sense of the nonsensical, I have to write. I don’t think I have a great way with words, I doubt I would shift hundreds of thousands of books, I write so that I can understand. If along the way, others understand me too, then that’s the added beauty of my labour. When something becomes so much a part of you, so necessary to your day to day function, an outlet and a constant comfort, to deny it would be to simply deny yourself. So, I hereby declare that I am a writer. (miss-ntianu)

Feels like I haven’t updated this thing in ages so I’m going to go ahead and fill in the blanks. My life at this present time is SWEET AS A NUT, I am HAPPY AS LARRY and I learnt upgrades are a bit like people - Never settle for a Nokia 3310 when there’s an iPhone 5 waiting for you. The past couple of weeks have been so good to me; Vince Kidd the week before, Azealia banks yesterday who tore the roof off Shepards’ Bush empire performing 212, literally fuck my life I’ve never EVER felt so special. Overall, I’m just in good place at the moment, everything is chill and going my way thus far. Oh, and Christmas is apparently like 10 weekends away or something like that so everything is getting all festive and it’s just nice and yeah, I’m excited for it and whatever else. But that’s pretty much it, living my life like it’s fucking golden.

Nas has always been really underrated in the UK. With his headlining spot at this year’s Radio 1 Hackney live weekend, his profile seems to have boosted, giving him his very first top 10 album with “Life Is Good”. With “Cherry Wine” it seems like Nas will get his first successful single in a while too. The video compliments the impressive track, serving as a perfect visual to work with, rather than overshadow the mood of the song. It serves as a lovely tribute to Amy, plus it’s interesting to see Nas working as a barman too. Hopefully the interest surrounding this song will result in it becoming Nas’ biggest UK single since 2004’s “Bridging the Gap”. We all know he deserves it. (yakk)
